Salary: £38,000 to 45,000 Basic salary (DOE) Bonus Bens

About the Role

Our client is looking for an ambitious and personable Business Development Manager to join their growing team and take responsibility for developing new business opportunities across the West Midlands. This is a relationship-led role, focused on building strong connections with key decision-makers, identifying new opportunities and converting relationships into long-term commercial partnerships. This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-focused Business Development Manager who enjoys networking, meeting people and creating new commercial opportunities across the West Midlands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities across the West Midlands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and senior stakeholders.
  • Attend networking events, business forums and industry events to generate new leads and opportunities.
  • Identify potential clients and develop targeted approaches to win new business.
  • Take a consultative approach to understanding client needs and presenting suitable solutions.
  • Manage the full business development process, from initial contact through to conversion.
  • Build a strong network of professional and commercial contacts across the region.
  • Influence and engage senior decision-makers through strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospects and develop long-term client relationships.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from business development to delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, contacts and sales activity.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in business development, consultative sales or relationship management.
  • Confident, outgoing and comfortable meeting new people.
  • A natural networker with the ability to build genuine professional relationships.
  • Commercially driven and motivated by generating new business.
  • Confident communicating with senior decision-makers.
  • Self-motivated, organised and able to manage your own diary and territory.
  • Comfortable attending networking events and representing the business professionally.
  • Able to identify opportunities and turn conversations into commercial relationships.
  • Based within, or able to effectively cover, the West Midlands.
  • A full UK driving licence holder with access to your own car.
