Senior Accountant

Salary: $67,600.00USD – $121,700.00USD

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide quality financial detail, accurate financial summaries, and specialized bookkeeping.
  • Support, mentor, and give direction to colleagues across the organization.
  • Ensure the outcome of business operations and center retail activities through diligent financial management.
  • Manage company portion-based remuneration, share repurchases, liabilities, and subordinated interests.
  • Assess agreements and arrangements, plan financial-summary exposures, and guarantee efficient and accurate month‐end close procedures, including journal entries, reconciliations, SOX internal controls, and key internal details.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Pay, Legal, Deposit, Expense, Financial Preparation, Audit, and Internal Controls teams to support specialized bookkeeping, detailing, and investigation.
  • Handle extraordinary projects and ad-hoc investigations as required by business needs.
  • Play a central role in driving process improvements and fostering a strong control environment.
  • Adapt to changing business needs with flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation.
  • 4–6 years of public bookkeeping experience or substantial financial detail work with a public accounting firm.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP (share‐based pay, liabilities, and subordinated accounting).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate specialized bookkeeping matters.
  • Self‐motivated, works independently, and maintains high levels of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, problem‐solving, and presentation skills.
  • Team player who is ready to collaborate across the organization.
  • Adaptable to a constantly changing environment with the capacity to handle several tasks.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Proficient with data and analytics tools, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other automation platforms to address business problems.

Work Arrangement

This position may be considered for a Remote or Hybrid work plan based on Target's needs. A Hybrid plan involves a mix of virtual and in‐office work at a Target location. A Remote plan requires the employee to work primarily from home or another location outside the primary Target hub, with occasional travel to headquarters no more than four times per year.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range: $67,600.00USD – $121,700.00USD.
