High School STEM Intern

The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Abbott hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem solving abilities.

Abbott's worldwide business offers these interns an opportunity to work in a variety of STEM fields including:

Engineering, Quality, Supply chain, Manufacturing and R&D

Intern assignments could be located at the following locations (determined based on high school location):

  • Alameda, CA

  • Columbus, OH
  • Dallas, TX
  • Minneapolis, MN
  • Santa Clara, CA
  • Sunnyvale, CA
  • Temecula, CA

Abbott strongly considers those internship performers that continuously excel for their college intern program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior enrolled in a STEM focused high school curriculum
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship
  • Intent to pursuing a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a STEM field
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship from Abbott
  • Located near Abbott host facility

Preferred Qualifications

:• Strong academic performance (GPA = 3.0/4.0)

  • Exceptionally demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills

The base pay for this position is $16.85 - $33.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
