  • Salary: £26,500 – £27,500 + up to 6% performance bonus
  • Working location: Home‑based but with time at the Lichfield Hub, site visits, and occasional travel to other hub locations as required
  • Employment type: Full time, Permanent

Job Summary

We’re looking for a Learning and Skills Co‑ordinator to join our Commercial Services Training team. In this role, you’ll mentor and guide apprentices and trainees, support curriculum development, monitor learner progress, and act as the link between learners, employers, and NHBC trainers. You’ll play a key role in helping learners build the knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to succeed, while also developing your own career through professional growth opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing one‑to‑one and group mentorship to apprentices and trainees, helping them understand and apply industry knowledge and skills.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring it meets industry standards and learner needs, and supporting the training team in creating materials for internal and external use.
  • Supporting practical skills development through hands‑on activities, real‑world scenarios, and site visits, acting as a key support to the lead trainer for trainee cohorts.
  • Monitoring learner progress, giving constructive feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Offering career guidance within the construction, home building, and site management sectors.
  • Acting as the main point of contact between apprentices, employers, and NHBC trainers, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
  • Helping to resolve challenges that may arise during the programme.
  • Ensuring training programmes meet compliance and quality standards, including accurate record‑keeping and evidence gathering.
  • Supporting project work to improve training programmes, ensuring alignment with brand and compliance standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to help individuals reach their potential while supporting wider teams.
  • Confidence using digital tools and Microsoft Office for training and mentoring purposes.
  • A positive, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across different groups.
  • Strong attention to detail, with good problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, or training is desirable but not essential; we’ll provide training.
  • Knowledge or experience of apprenticeships, the home building sector, or health and safety regulations would be an advantage.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, grade 4 or above (grade 2+ also considered).
  • Willingness to travel to different sites; a UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
