Position Overview

As a Statistics Analyst I at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of sports data that reaches hundreds of millions of fans daily. You'll work within our Details and Data Gathering department, which is responsible for producing elite-level data, insights, and storytelling that ensure sports enthusiasts trust arenaflex for depth, accuracy, and perspective.

In this part-time position, you'll be entrusted with verifying and entering crucial sports statistics across virtually all arenaflex platforms — from our flagship television network to our digital properties like arenaflex.com, Fantasy, Game Cast, and the Bottom Line. Your work will directly impact the fan experience, ensuring that scores, schedules, standings, and statistics are delivered with precision and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities

As a Statistics Analyst I, your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Data Accuracy and Timeliness: Ensure that all sports information disseminated by the Details and Data team is accurate, delivered on time, and provides meaningful context for fans, analysts, and broadcasters.
  • Real-Time Data Entry and Verification: Work with automated data feeds and perform manual data entry to maintain scores, schedules, standings, rankings, and statistical categories across all arenaflex platforms globally.
  • Collaborative Production Support: Function effectively in both individual and team settings to deliver precise statistical breakdowns, clock-and-score updates, and comprehensive measurements in real-time that power arenaflex's extensive product portfolio and television productions.
  • Content Accuracy Excellence: Verify the results of your own work and that of your colleagues, maintaining consistently high standards of accuracy even under the pressure of live broadcasting deadlines.
  • Story Development Support: Assist in transforming raw statistics into compelling storylines by identifying statistical events that explain why teams win or lose, contributing to arenaflex's renowned sports narrative.
  • Process Improvement: Proactively identify potential issues — both daily operational challenges and longer-term systemic concerns — and propose effective solutions. Communicate rapidly and decisively with team members about these issues.
  • Production Coordination: Contribute to production, operations, and special initiatives across the newsroom while supporting newsroom leaders who manage full-time and part-time staff.
