Remote Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the team. Responsibilities of this role include preparing error-free engineering documents, maintaining relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, building strong client relationships and producing high quality engineering deliverables. The Nuclear Services group provides engineering services (HVAC, hydraulic, piping system designs, etc.) for our Nuclear and Department of Energy (DOE) facilities. The work involves designing mechanical systems in support of our country's nuclear power plants, nuclear stockpile, environmental cleanup and storage of radiological waste, and the development of the next generation of nuclear power.

This position can be remote as long as you are not located within 50 miles of an ENERCON office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with design of mechanical systems for mid level engineer
  • Experience working on Nuclear design projects
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of mechanical calculations
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • Good writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks if needed
  • Thermal-hydraulic and design modification experienced desired
  • Relevant energy system design experience (e.g., HVAC, Hydraulic, Piping) preferred
  • Software experience (AFT FATHOM / ARROW / IMPULSE, AutoPipe, HVAC Heat Load / Air Flow) preferred
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Compensation Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
