Remote Part Time Legal Assistant

Part-Time Remote Legal Assistant, Bilingual Spanish Required Scheer Legal, Plantation, FL

About Us

Scheer Legal is a boutique law firm based in Plantation, Florida. We handle estate planning, real estate and transactional matters, business and entity formation, construction law, personal injury, civil litigation, and maritime and admiralty matters. A large part of our client base is Spanish speaking, so bilingual communication is part of daily life at the firm.

About the Role

We're looking for a part-time remote legal assistant to support our law clerk and paralegal with the administrative and case-support work that currently eats up their time. This is not an attorney or paralegal role. You won't carry your own case load. You'll be the person who keeps the day-to-day moving so the rest of the team can focus on the substantive legal work.

This is a fully remote position. You'll need to be reliably available during Eastern time business hours and have a stable internet connection.

What You'll Do

  • Answer and route incoming client calls and emails in both English and Spanish
  • Schedule and confirm client meetings, calls, and closings
  • Prepare and format routine correspondence, intake forms, and client documents
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding items such as signatures, documents, and paperwork
  • Maintain and organize case files and keep records current
  • Enter and update task and matter status information for the team
  • Handle general administrative support for the attorney, law clerk, and paralegal
  • Assist with light research or filing tasks as directed

What We're Looking For

  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English. This is required, not a nice-to-have.
  • Prior experience in a legal, professional services, or administrative support role
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment without close supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines without dropping things
  • Clear, professional phone and written communication
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, AI)
  • Familiarity with legal case management software such as LEAP is a plus, but not required

Schedule

Part-time, with hours to be worked out based on the right candidate's availability and the firm's needs.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week

Work Location: Remote
