Remote Veterinarian, Written Pet Q&A (Contract)
PawsRx is a national directory and booking platform for veterinary care. Pet owners use our free Ask a Vet feature to send written questions about their pets, and we are looking for a licensed veterinarian to answer them.
This is a 1099 independent contractor role, fully remote, on your own schedule. You answer under your own name and your own judgment, and every answer is published with your name and credential, so readers always know a veterinarian wrote it. Every answer also carries a clear notice that it is general educational information, not a diagnosis, treatment plan, or prescription, and that it does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship. When a question cannot be answered safely without an exam, the right answer is to say so and point the owner to a local clinic.
What you would do:
Write short, plain-language answers to pet owner questions, typically 5 to 10 minutes each.
Flag anything that reads like an emergency so we can redirect the owner immediately.
What we are looking for:
DVM with an active license in good standing in any US state.
Writing that a worried pet owner can actually understand.
Comfort with telehealth boundaries. Experience on platforms like Airvet, Roo, or JustAnswer is a plus but not required.
Your own professional liability coverage is preferred.
If you want more than Q&A, veterinarians on PawsRx can also claim a public profile and take appointment requests, but that is optional and separate.
To apply, include the state where you are licensed or credentialed and a couple of sentences about your experience. We verify every license and credential with the issuing state board before any answer is published.
