Warehouse Associate (Forklift / Electric Pallet Jack)
- Location: Brooklyn, NY
- Pay: $17.00–$18.00/hr
- Start: Immediate start available
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, AM shift (full-time)
- Environment: Cold / refrigerated warehouse (you’ll be partially be working in chill/cold areas)

We’re hiring a Warehouse Associate with strong machinery experience—especially forklift and/or electric pallet jack—to support daily food distribution operations for a mission-driven nonprofit. What you’ll do (day-to-day)
- Operate forklift and/or electric pallet jack to move pallets and product safely through the warehouse
- Load/unload inventory at docks and staging areas
- Put away product to rack/storage locations and replenish pick locations
- Pick, pack, label, shrink-wrap, and stage orders for shipment
- Use electric pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as needed
- Follow safety rules, check equipment daily, and report issues promptly
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and audit-ready
- Work across warehouse areas based on daily needs (receiving, put-away, picking, staging)
- Maintain accurate counts, inventory notes, and activity logs
- Stay productive after tasks are completed—jump in where help is needed
Must-have qualifications
- 1+ year of recent warehouse experience (hands-on)
- Recent forklift experience (reach truck strongly preferred) or the ability to demonstrate safe, confident operation
- Experience with electric pallet jack / pump jack
- Comfortable doing physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking throughout shift)
- Familiar with shipping/receiving, picking/packing, inventory, staging, or material handling
- Strong attendance + punctuality (this role depends on reliable people)
- High-energy, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed
- Comfortable in a cold/refrigerated environment
Highly preferred (to stand out)
- Electric Pallet Jack experience (recent)
- Forklift certification (nice to have, not required if you can operate safely)
- Experience in food distribution, cold storage, or high-volume warehouse operations
- Interest in learning more equipment/processes and moving into a lead role over time
