Bedrock Society Adjusters is seeking an experienced fire-loss Xactimate estimator for project-based residential assignments throughout the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced IA, PA, carrier property adjuster, restoration estimator, or other qualified property-loss professional seeking well-paid freelance or moonlighting work alongside their current role.

Assignments are offered individually with the location, inspection time, loss classification, project fee, and anticipated workload provided upfront. You decide whether the assignment fits your availability.

Compensation

Moderate Loss

$500 per project

Typical project time: 5–7 hours

Effective rate: approximately $71–$100/hour

Major Loss

$750 per project

Typical project time: 8–10 hours

Effective rate: approximately $75–$94/hour

Severe Loss

$1,000 per project

Typical project time: 11–14 hours

Effective rate: approximately $71–$91/hour

Typical effective project compensation averages approximately $80–$85/hour, depending on assignment complexity and estimator efficiency.

Assignments are fixed-fee projects. Skilled, efficient estimators may achieve higher effective hourly earnings.

Typical Assignment

One site visit to inspect, document, and scope a residential fire loss. The inspection may occur independently or at the same time as the carrier adjuster’s inspection.

Deliverables generally include

  • Matterport tour
  • Measurements and comprehensive damage photography
  • Detailed room-by-room reconstruction scope
  • Complete Xactimate estimate with appropriate line-item detail
  • PDF + ESX delivery
  • Supporting notes/documentation as needed
  • QA review
  • One reasonable revision included
Required
  • 4+ years documented property-loss experience in one or more of the following:
  • Public Adjusting
  • Independent Adjusting
  • Carrier Property Adjusting
  • Restoration / Reconstruction Estimating
  • Strong Xactimate proficiency
  • Demonstrated fire and reconstruction estimating experience
  • Ability to independently inspect and scope residential fire losses
  • Professional communication and documentation skills
  • Reliable transportation and necessary field equipment
  • Appropriate professional/business insurance coverage
  • Ability to provide examples of prior estimating work
  • Access to required software and field equipment, including Xactimate and Matterport
Xactimate certifications, large-loss experience, Matterport proficiency, construction knowledge, and active adjusting licenses are highly valued.

How Assignments Work

Once selected, you will receive project opportunities based on your experience, geography, and availability. Each assignment is presented with the scope classification, fixed compensation, inspection details, and expected workload before you accept it.

There is no minimum project requirement, making this a strong fit for experienced professionals who want flexible, high-value project work without taking on another full-time position.

Experienced professionals and skilled moonlighters are encouraged to apply.
