Zoom Moderator

Job Overview

As a Zoom Compliance Moderator (Proctor), you will enforce strict state-mandated regulations for our certified Georgia DDS Defensive Driving courses. This is a high-vigilance, zero-tolerance role. You will not be providing soft customer support; you will act as a digital proctor ensuring 100% adherence to state compliance. Your impact: By strictly monitoring student presence, tracking identification, and instantly executing removals for rule violations, you protect our school’s state operating license.

Responsibilities

- Manage the Zoom Waiting Room, verifying participant photo IDs against our roster prior to entry.

- Maintain a continuous, uninterrupted full-screen visual scan of a 40-student video grid across dual monitors.

- Instantly eject participants from the current live session if a compliance violation occurs (e.g., camera drops, student leaves their seat).

- Coordinate silently in a backend private chat with a co-moderator to manage split-duty tasks (Tech/Admin vs. Grid Surveillance).

- Log exact check-in timestamps and precise reasons for student removals to maintain an airtight, state auditor-ready attendance log.

- Handle student technical issues silently via private chat without disrupting the live lecture.

Qualifications

-Must be comfortable executing immediate session removals firmly and consistently, ensuring that students who do not meet state requirements are removed from the active virtual classroom without hesitation

- Required Hardware: A reliable computer setup with Dual Monitors (one must be dedicated entirely to the Zoom video grid).

- Required Infrastructure: High-speed internet with a verified backup power/hotspot plan.

- Extreme attention to detail and high mental stamina necessary to maintain focus during a 7-hour block.

- Proven experience moderating compliance-heavy virtual environments, online exams, court hearings, or certified webinars is strictly required.

Pay: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 49.0 per week

Application Question(s):

  • This role requires managing a 40-person video grid on one screen while simultaneously updating an admin spreadsheet on another. Do you currently have a functioning dual-monitor (two or more screens) computer setup?
  • f your home internet or power drops during a live 7-hour state course, do you have an immediate backup plan (such as a mobile hotspot or secondary device) to remain online as a co-host?
  • Are you consistently available to work the required evening/weekend shift block (M-F 4:45 PM – midnight, Sat 1:45 PM – 9:00 PM, Sun 9:45 AM – 5:00 PM EST) without scheduling conflicts?
  • Per Georgia DDS rules, if a student's camera goes off or they violate classroom rules, they must be removed from the session immediately without warning or exception. Are you fully comfortable executing immediate session removals firmly and consistently?
