About the position
This role is for a Senior Manager of Influencers who is \"chronically online,\" obsessed with influencers from emerging creators to A-list celebrities, has a strong network, and possesses the skills to build and shape Starbucks’ influencer strategy. The Senior Manager will lead the strategy and execution of Starbucks’ influencer presence, aiming to deepen cultural relevance and amplify the brand's iconic elements through creators. The position involves translating brand, consumer, and cultural insights into authentic influencer partnerships that generate conversation, drive engagement, and foster brand love. The role will oversee a diverse range of talent, including Green Apron Creators, celebrities, and content creators, ensuring Starbucks remains culturally relevant. Responsibilities include managing influencer strategies for key brand, product, and cultural moments, staying updated on influencer marketing trends, collaborating with various internal teams (Public Relations, Social, Paid Media, Creative, Global), identifying and nurturing suitable influencers, managing contracts and gifting programs, and tracking performance to optimize campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Build the buzz – Launch and scale an innovative influencer strategy that elevates Starbucks’ cultural relevance and brand love.
- Grow brand love – Own influencer campaign strategies for key brand, product, and cultural moments—from brief to launch to optimization.
- Be the cultural compass – Stay ahead of trends, talent, and best practices in influencer marketing and creator culture.
- Collaborate across teams – Partner with Public Relations, Social, Paid Media, Creative, and Global teams to integrate influencer content into broader campaigns.
- Create authentic relationships – Identify and nurture influencers who align with Starbucks’ values and audience and who are true Starbucks superfans.
- Negotiate with care – Manage contracts and gifting programs with a thoughtful, strategic approach for both the creator and the business.
- Measure – Track performance, optimize campaigns, and share insights to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 6+ years in influencer marketing, talent relations, or social media strategy
- Proven experience building and leading teams
- Deep understanding of creator culture, social platforms, and content trends
- Strong EQ (emotional quotient) and relationship-building skills
- Experience with contracts, negotiations, and legal reviews
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
